(Academic or General Training)
Academic – Institutions of Higher and Further Education, professional registration
The Academic format is, in general, for those who want to study or train in an
English-speaking university or Institutions of Higher and Further Education.
Admission to undergraduate and postgraduate courses is based on the results of
the Academic test. The Academic test is also required for those seeking
professional registration (for example, doctors)
General Training – for school, work or migration
IELTS General Training is for test takers wishing to migrate to an
English-speaking country (Australia, Canada, New Zealand, UK),
and for those wishing to train or study at below degree level.
